Okay, this is my first theme for my Sony Ericsson S500i...I thought it would be extremely difficult to make a phone theme, until my sister told me about a program she downloaded, and I got the Windows equivelant...

It is based on the Apple iPhone...and probably more on all the pre-release shots, considering it is using the clown fish wallpaper...but I used that cuz I thought it looked good.
All the images are manipulated and created in Photoshop...even the clown fish are edited a little bit.

I attempted to modify the menu to have actual iPhone icons, rather than the crappy themes you can download that have the icons as a wallpaper that overlaps with everything inside the phone screen...but unfortunately, I have close to no skill in Flash =]. You can download the menus around here somewhere though...

I have only posted a preview at the moment...depending on what sort of a reaction it gets, I may make it available for download. The theme would come bundled with a .swf file screensaver that shows the "slide to unlock" clock doover that would appear for about 20 or so seconds when you slide the S500i closed. I'm not sure if it will work on other Sony Ericssons...I'm sure it will, but it hasn't been tested.

Please comment and let me know what you think...Be nice...please...constructive critisism is requested, but no blatant meanness. It's my first theme, and there's a first time for everything. If it is clear that it's my first theme...you don't have to say that...offer a suggestion instead...but not a suggestion like "don't make another theme" cuz in that case...No. haha.

UPDATE: I have added the actual theme to be downloaded at request.
Pleeeeease click it =]...You know you want to...

Thanks for stopping by!

Gratuitous Update is that how you spell it?: Hey everyone! I just had a look, and this has hit over 4,500 views...infact, over 4,600...
Now I know views aren't necessarily what counts, and its more downloads; which have hit over 1,000...but it's all quite cool.
I didn't really expect it to be that "popular" in a sense, seeing as there's like a billion better ones, and this was my first theme ever on SE...but; just a quick thanks to everyone who has been involved in popping those statistics up.

Grab a download of the zip, and see whether you like it!
S500i is the best for it, as you can edit it to light up and it looks good with all kinds of lights; not just green :)
Thanks!!

Sorry I don't have the W810i as an option in my theme creator. If you want I can zip up the files needed, and send them to you. Leave me a private message at my homepage with your email address, and I will email it to you.

I suggest you upload the theme file. I find it hard to give constructive criticism unless I can see the theme in its entirety.

I have taken a look. And it's nice enough for a first, though hardly original. IMO those fishes are outdone. ;)

Anyways, some tips: the first thing that strikes me is the large lower bar with the icon thingie on the background image. Does not look good IMHO. I suggest you adhere to the recommended 30px height for the Softkey bar. And ditch the icon, it interferes with the text.

I feel that the highlights and titles could use a little more "definition". Perhaps a more defined frame. And the rounded corners on some of the highlights looks very elongated.

The title area of the Popup/Activity Menu doesn't fit with the look of the theme. It should also be moved out of the background image and put in its proper element (Popup Title/Activity Menu Tab).

The color scheme of the theme should be brought in "tune" with the images used. Ideally you should have a color scheme that has enough contrast between the elements so that the theme could be used without images. Do a preview in Themes Creator without the images, and you'll see which colors needs changing.

I hope that was helpful, and understand that I'm not trying to be mean in any way. A good tip to improve your skills, is to look at other themes and see what works, and what doesn't. And remember... practice, practice, practice! ;)
